I am an experienced high school English teacher based in Northern Virginia with 12 years of classroom experience serving students in grades 9–12. Throughout my career, I have worked with a diverse range of learners, including special education students, English language learners, academic-level classes, honors students, and Advanced Placement Literature scholars. Whether guiding students through complex novels, strengthening foundational grammar skills, or helping them craft analytical essays, I am passionate about helping young people grow into confident readers, writers, and critical thinkers.

I provide targeted support in reading comprehension, writing development, grammar mastery, SAT and ACT preparation, and state testing skills. I understand the academic expectations facing today’s students and work to equip them with practical strategies they can apply immediately in school and on standardized assessments. I believe every student can succeed with the right guidance, encouragement, and tools—and I am committed to helping each learner reach their full potential.

SOL

I have taught 11th grade English for 12 years in Virginia, specifically with students needing to pass the EOC Reading and Writing SOLs. Knowing how to read for purpose, write a persuasive essay, and fix grammar mistakes is paramount for passing the SOL.
