While I am not a teacher, I have led many study groups for my fellow classmates, which not only helped me prepare for exams, but also helped my friends. I try to implement new learning techniques when teaching a subject, or explain things in a way that isn't normally thought of. For example, a fun way to remember that the number of valence electrons on a carbon molecule is 4, you could think of it as "car"bon, cars usually have 4 doors.
I was shy during school, and I always hated asking for help from the professor because I feared I'd ask a stupid question, or that I was dumb because I wasn't understanding things as fast as my fellow classmates. Which is why I was involved in many different study groups that helped me tremendously. It was a safe place that I could get help from my peers, and offer them help in return. Now that I've finished college, I want to help other students, and I like being a personable resource that everyone is comfortable asking questions to.
I am a recent graduate from Oregon State University, with a degree in Microbiology and minors in Chemistry and Toxicology. Science is my passion, and I love helping others whenever I can.
I've always enjoyed writing and proofreading. I've had a lot of experience writing scientific papers and manuscripts, and peer-reviewing papers.
Please feel free to contact me with any questions, science related, or even about school in general and how to prepare for college.
