Hello! My name is Akbar, and I am currently a Special Education Teacher with Fairfax County Public Schools, one of the largest and highest-performing school divisions in the country.
Before becoming a teacher, I worked as an Instructional Assistant for six years and have since spent several years as a Special Education Teacher. Throughout my career, I have worked with students from elementary through high school, giving me extensive experience adapting instruction to different ages, learning styles, and academic needs.
I specialize in helping students strengthen their skills in reading, writing, math, organization, study habits, executive functioning, and homework completion. I also have significant experience supporting students with IEPs, ADHD, autism, learning disabilities, and other unique learning needs.
As a current Special Education Teacher, I work daily with students who learn in different ways and require individualized support to succeed. This experience allows me to use proven instructional strategies, accommodations, and interventions tailored to each student’s strengths and challenges.
My approach is patient, encouraging, and personalized. I believe every student can make meaningful progress when provided with the right support, structure, and encouragement. My goal is not only to improve academic performance but also to help students develop confidence, independence, and a positive attitude toward learning.
Whether your child needs summer enrichment, academic support, help maintaining skills during school breaks, or preparation for the upcoming school year, I am committed to helping them reach their full potential.
I look forward to partnering with your family and helping your child succeed both academically and personally.
