Hi! I'm a University of Richmond graduate with a degree in Chemistry, and I've been tutoring for years, starting in high school, where I attended a magnet program focused on education. There, I worked one-on-one with elementary students, and I've continued tutoring young learners since.
I especially love helping early readers. I've worked with many children who were just learning to read, and I know how much patience, encouragement, and the right strategies matter at that stage. I also tutor elementary math and science, where my science background helps me explain the "why" behind concepts so they stick, not just memorize them.
I also tutor high school chemistry. With my degree in the subject, I can help students work through everything from balancing equations and stoichiometry to the concepts that tend to trip people up, like moles, bonding, and reactions. Chemistry can feel intimidating, and I enjoy breaking it into manageable steps until it makes sense.
Writing is my favorite subject to teach. Whether your student is brainstorming ideas, getting words on the page, organizing an essay, or polishing a final draft, I can help at every step. I work with writers of all ages, from elementary students to high schoolers and adults.
My sessions are calm, supportive, and tailored to each student. I aim to build confidence along with skills, because a student who believes they can learn usually does. I'm currently applying to graduate programs in mental health counseling, so understanding how each student thinks and feels is central to how I teach.
I'd love to hear about your student and what they need help with. Feel free to send me a message!
