My name is Aida D. and I am an incoming first-year medical student (M1) at a top 30 medical school in the United States. I earned a Bachelor’s degree in Human Biology with a 3.8 GPA and went on to complete a Master of Public Health. During this time where I also served as a teaching assistant supporting undergraduate-level coursework. I scored a 131 on the Critical Analysis and Reading (CARS) section of the MCAT (99th percentile), but it was a difficult journey. I started with a score below 124 and spent months developing a system of strategies that truly worked. I know what it’s like to feel stuck in CARS, and I take pride in helping students push past that same frustration. My experience is not just academic, rather it's personal, and I use that to guide others through what can be the most difficult sections of the MCAT.
During my tutoring sessions, I focus on building strong habits through annotation practice, timed drills, and active reading. I work with students to develop targeted annotation skills to highlight passages effectively and sharpen their ability to think critically under time pressure. While this is my first time formally tutoring for the MCAT, I have provided 1-on-1 support to peers and friends. I approach tutoring as a collaborative process, and my recent experience with the MCAT and medical school admissions makes me especially in tune with what students are experiencing. If you are looking for someone who has been in your shoes and can offer affordable, high-quality support, I would love to help you reach your goals. Feel free to reach out with any questions!
