I believe that English and writing skills are essential not only for success but also for one's personal growth and the way they navigate the world. By understanding how language is used, and can be used, we understand how others relate to us and how we can relate to others. When teaching creative writing, my aim is not to have the student write a certain way, but to collaboratively find ways to make their own writing shine.
