Hi! I am Mauri C. I am a senior special education major at the University of Maryland Eastern Shore. My teaching experience stems from four years of being a teacher assistant at summer schools for Richmond Public School, one year of being a virtual instructional assistant for Broad Rock Elementary School, and currently, I am a 3rd-4th grade special education intern for an elementary school in Maryland! I am an athlete so I love to incorporate games and sports into my lessons! I am engaging and focused on scaffolding content to meet each student's ability level while also challenging them. I would love to get the chance to know your scholar better and help them grow!

I am an outstanding math tutor because math has been my strong suit since I was in primary school. I have taken many math courses on the college level and have specifically taken a course centered around teaching elementary math to students who are disabled or below grade level. I have experience with a plethora of manipulatives, even virtual ones, that can help students understand concepts better.

I am an outstanding math tutor because I lean on my reading struggles growing up to relate to students and help them form better understandings. I was the kid who grew up loathing reading. However, when I began my college course work I realized that reading is fun and a subject that students can show a tremendous amount of growth in with the right teacher. I have taken and passed the "Teaching Reading: Elementary" praxis, thus qualifying me to teach elementary reading.

I am an outstanding study skills tutor because I am extremely organized and am able to show scholars multiple ways of studying for a better understanding. Whether it be online games, flash cards, cornell notes, and even repetitive writing, I can always think of new ways to learn content better.
