Microbiology and Immunology Ph.D. student ready to help you learn!

I am a current Ph.D. student in Microbiology and Immunology and am looking to help you improve your understanding, test scores, and overall confidence in your academic abilities. In my tutoring sessions I will generally set it up in three different steps; first we will go over and overview of the information that you were presented to establish general understanding; second, through homework and test preparation, we will identify gaps in your understanding, and lastly we will go over original practice questions and class homework to solidify your understanding to a point where you can reproduce these ideas on your own. These steps are what I have used throughout my high school, undergrad, and graduate career so far to find success both in my own classes and in my students classes. My goal is to work closely with students at first on new topics, and then graduate them to more independent work that will be tailored to your specific class and style your professor is testing you in.

I will adapt my methods to help you be the most successful. Some ways that have worked in the past include providing original written notes, finding videos for explanations, writing practices questions, creating practice tests, analyzing experiments, etc.

Another thing that I would like to address is that my schedule and teaching style is flexible to your needs. I will adapt my teaching methods for you so that you can learn in the most efficient and comfortable way possible. Building confidence in your abilities is just as important as learning the material.

I have studied these areas for about 8 years now, with over a 3.5 GPA from UC Davis: Global Disease Biology B.S.; Public Health Minor Ph.D student in microbiology and immunology; AP Biology; Chemistry; AP Chemistry; High School Biology; College level Biology (genetics, biochem, ecology/evolution); Microbiology at the undergraduate and graduate level (both lab and written); Immunology at the undergraduate and graduate level.
