Hello, I am Johnathan. I am a freelance teacher and tutor from Henrico, Virginia. I am the owner and operator of Intellect Masters LLC., through which this tutoring work will be completed. I am proficient in many academic subjects, such as science, math, and English. I have a master's degree in Geochemistry, a bachelor’s in Earth Science (with a double minor in Chemistry and Political Science), and a 120-hour TEFL certificate. I placed at the top of my class in college and high school. I earned a 3.95/4.00 GPA in my master’s degree studies. As an undergraduate, I completed the Central Connecticut State University Honor Program and graduated Cum Laude. I have eight years of experience teaching and tutoring a variety of age groups and grade levels from elementary school to college. I've tutored students who have learning differences like ADHD.

My desire to help students succeed draws me to tutoring. I was the founder and president of Theta Zeta, Central Connecticut State University’s chapter of the Earth Science Honors Society known as Sigma Gamma Epsilon. As president of Theta Zeta, I organized geology tutoring sessions and led an effort to create rock study kits for undergraduate geology students studying for rock identification exams.

My educational philosophy is simple: Lessons should be engaging, encouraging, and tailored to the student’s needs. Positive feedback keeps students motivated and focused. I advise Wyzant students that perseverance is crucial. I have seen my students improve their grades when receiving tutoring consistently in conjunction with persistent studying.

Cancellation policies: 24-hour notice is required for cancellations. All no-shows and lessons canceled without 24-hour notice incur a cancellation fee equal to the cost of one hour. I may assess a cancellation fee if I must cancel a lesson because a student made requests that violate Wyzant's TOS (Terms of Service).
