About Susan

Bio

I am a responsible professional with over 20 years of experience teaching and mentoring students from preschool through college. I received my B.S. degree in Biology from Tufts University and my Ph.D. in Toxicology from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. My primary areas of interest include math, reading, and science education for kindergarten through sixth grade students.

I am a responsible professional with over 20 years of experience teaching and mentoring students from preschool through college. I received my B.S. degree in Biology from Tufts University and my Ph.D. in Toxicology from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. My primary areas of interest include math, reading, and science education for kindergarten through sixth grade students.

In addition to being an online math and reading tutor, I work as a teacher in an afterschool enrichment program and also serve as a substitute teacher for elementary school students. Prior to my current roles, I owned and operated a Kumon Math and Reading Center, specializing in academic enrichment for students in preschool to middle school. I also worked for several years as an assistant teacher for younger children in a Junior Kindergarten classroom.

I enjoy tutoring students in grades K to 6 in math, science, and reading, and my background and training help me to present material in a clear and concise manner. I truly enjoy working with students, and I have focused my efforts on growing and developing young minds.
