I am a passionate, caring teacher who has always loved helping and working with people, especially students! I have over 10 years of experience in education, with five of those years dedicated to full-time classroom instruction. My biggest priorities as an instructor are to help students succeed as much as possible, engage them with material in interesting ways, and make learning as fun and stress free as possible.

I specialize in tutoring English/Language Arts, Reading, Writing, and Japanese. I always excelled and loved English/Language Arts classes when I was in school, and would love the opportunity to share that with students. I would also love the opportunity for students to experience a new language that may not be available to them at their own school, and show how awesome learning languages can be!

One of my main goals for sessions is to keep the student engaged and challenged, but not to the point of overwhelming them. I would like to assign reviews for the students that we can assess at following sessions, and create progress reports to see where we are after a few sessions.

I began studying Japanese as early as my freshman year of high school, and have been studying the language for approximately 10 years now. I received my Bachelor of Arts degree in Japanese Language and Culture from Florida State University in December 2015. I even have had the opportunity to travel to Japan twice now; the last time being for a 2 month long study abroad program, where my classes were taught solely in Japanese. I was the sole Japanese instructor at both high schools I worked at. Additionally, I was in charge of writing the curriculum and end of year exams, as well as speaking with textbook vendors about which books to use each year.
