As a former teacher for twenty years, I have worked with many students on various levels. My passion of teaching stems from five generations of educationals within my family. It enlightens me to assist anyone in need of understanding. I have spent countless hours teaching in various localities, to include overseas, working with children and adults who want to further their education. The areas in which I primarily taught were in Reading, History, Geography, Civics and preparing students to obtain their GED. To actually see the growth and self-esteem materialize brings so much warmth. I know that this is what I have been chosen to do because at any hour or time I will stop what I am doing to give assistance to those seeking help.

My session will begin with just talking to that student to ease the discomfort that he or she may feel. Then I will administer a short pre-test to assess the needs and strengths of that student. Once assessment is complete, I will immediately design a plan to fit that students needs. To end the session, I will ask what was learned and what did you not understand. This gives me insight as to what strategies were good for him or her and what strategies may need to be revamped or curtailed more to the student's needs. Then, from there, homework is assigned for practice to further enhance the learning. Once we get through assignments based on a skill or unit, I give a short assessment to see if the skills are mastered. If not, we will have to revisit.

I am available Monday through Thursday from 9am-6pm. My hourly rate will be $45/hour for in person at your home, free of dogs or cats in the learning environment or at a public library. I look forward to hearing from you to ensure that your child achieves success.
