Teaching and tutoring English has been the most rewarding part of my seven-year career. I have a Master’s in English Literature from Wake Forest University, where I worked closely with undergraduate and graduate students on every part of their writing—from brainstorming ideas to line-by-line edits and building strong, persuasive arguments. While I’m proud of my academic background, my real passion is helping students grow as writers and thinkers, building the skills they need to succeed in high school, college, and standardized tests like the SAT.
I specialize in academic writing, essay development, grammar, reading comprehension, and SAT English prep. I’ve worked with high school students at all levels, ESL learners, and adults, tailoring my approach to each student’s strengths and goals. I focus on breaking down complex concepts, helping students organize their thoughts, and guiding them to write with clarity and confidence. I also teach students how to analyze texts critically, craft strong arguments, and approach timed essays strategically.
My tutoring style is supportive, practical, and goal-oriented. I start by understanding where a student is and where they want to go, then create lessons and exercises that build both skills and confidence. Whether it’s improving academic writing, preparing for the SAT, or mastering reading and grammar, my goal is always the same: to help students feel capable, motivated, and excited about their writing.
