Hello Future Test Takers and Scholars!
Hi! My name is Rishi, and I’m currently a second-year medical student at the Virginia Commonwealth University School of Medicine in Richmond, Virginia. I offer personalized tutoring across multiple subjects, including the MCAT, SAT Math, Algebra 1, and both Microeconomics and Macroeconomics.
I graduated as an Echols Scholar from the University of Virginia with a Bachelor’s Degree with Distinction in Economics and a Minor in Data Science, earning a 3.9+ GPA in my pre-medical coursework.
During undergrad, I spent two years as a teaching assistant for Biochemistry, Microeconomics, and Macroeconomics, where I worked closely with students to simplify complex topics and develop practical study strategies. I’ve also tutored economics at both the high school and college levels, and I love helping students connect theory to real-world applications.
When it comes to standardized tests, I know firsthand how challenging they can be. I went from scoring in the sub-500s on my initial MCAT diagnostic to earning a 92nd percentile score (515+) on my first attempt. I also earned a perfect 800 on the SAT Math section when applying to undergrad. I understand what it’s like to struggle, improve, and succeed—and I bring that same growth mindset to every tutoring session.
Here’s what I can help you with:
MCAT: Strategy-driven content review, pacing tips, and customized study plans
SAT Math & Algebra 1: Building core math foundations and boosting test confidence
Personal Statements (College, Medical School): Crafting your narrative, developing ideas, appealing to college adcoms, grammatical/structural feedback
Whether you’re aiming for med school, college admission, or just trying to get through a tough class, I’m here to help you break down complex ideas, stay organized, and perform at your best. Let’s build a plan that works for you, and get you on the path to excel :)
