I'm Christopher! I graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Accounting and a Master's Degree in Economics. In college, I realized the classes I appreciated the most weren't necessarily the topics I was most interested in. Rather, it was the professors who made the classes enjoyable. These professors were always engaging and comprehensible when teaching the material in the classroom, and willing to go the extra mile when I asked for additional help or clarification. I try to bring this knowledge to my tutoring approach, and do everything I can to make learning a pleasant experience. I use lesson plans in which I usually introduce the topic in a fun and creative way, then I explicitly teach the material. Afterwards I always ensure time for students to practice the material on their own. This method can be adjusted based on student's individual needs.
I have almost a decade of teaching experience in a middle school Algebra classroom. I worked directly with any students that needed additional assistance, but also had a small focus groups of 5-10 students in each of my 4 classes. These were the students that needed the extra help, so I worked with them during class to ensure they didn't fall behind. Additionally, I held tutoring sessions 3 days a week after school where students could come for any homework help.
My goal is to benefit the students I work with as much as possible, therefore I welcome any resources or suggestions students or parents can provide. I am easy to reach and will always provide fast responses. Feel free to contact me with any additional questions you may have or to schedule a lesson!
