In addition to my teaching experience, my background includes the following: MD, Master of Public Health, MS of Biochemistry

During the last 20 years, I have been tutoring students of all ages; most of my tutoring has been with high school students for chemistry, biology, algebra I, geometry, and math SAT test preparation but recently I have been working more with elementary grades. . For 12 of the previous years, I had also been a very busy substitute teacher, usually at elementary and middle schools. My teaching experiences have included working with gifted students and also students with learning disabilities and ADD/ADHD.

I encourage students to try the homework on their own before I arrive and I provide the student with extra problems if needed. I make sure that the student is able to understand what is being asked and what they need to do to solve the problems so that eventually they are able to solve the problems without help from me. I am patient with the different students and work at the speed needed for that student.

Some students may need sessions for longer than one hour. Also, If the student needs more than one session for that particular week, I do my best to arrange an extra meeting. I usually meet with the student at their house or at a local library.
To the student - I am looking forward to working with you, helping you bring up your grade(s) and increase your confidence.

High School Chemistry

Did a great job getting our daughter back up to speed in high school chemistry and she got a 100 on first test after the tutoring. Linda is very thorough and I would highly recommend.

Engaging and Supporting

My daughter is at a school with a nutty mod program, which means that the kids have to cover major topic areas in 5 week 'sprints'. My daughter really benefited from Linda spending time with her, patiently connecting dots in what she had been learning and working problems. My daughter has had immediate results in how she's doing, but MOST importantly is confidently mastering the subject matter.
