An experienced teacher with 24 years of experience working with students who have struggled in mathematics. I have worked with students in all levels. After receiving a Masters in Education with a focus of students with learning disabilities, I was hired by a public middle school in Virginia to be the "math expert" in the special education department. I have proceeded to hold that same title in various schools. I also was part of the math department during summer school that helped students pass the Virginia SOL test in 8th grade mathematics. I enjoy tutoring because I have found it to be very effective when working with students who struggle in the normal classroom. One on one tutoring builds the student's self confidence so they can be successful.
