Hi there! My name is Ainsley. I'm a student of philosophy who is passionate about powerful communication. Whether you're giving a presentation, writing a paper, interviewing for a job, or speaking competitively, using compelling rhetoric and clear reasoning is always critical. That's the skillset that I've been working on developing over the last six years.

I've been speaking and debating competitively for over half a decade now. Hundreds of hours of work and practice paid off in several regional and national titles, culminating in two First Place National Champion awards in policy debate and Second Place National Champion in collegiate Moot Court. During this same period, I've gotten the chance to coach local speech and debate clubs and collegiate Mock Trial teams. I love working with people who aren't naturally drawn to speaking, helping them not only succeed but also enjoy it.

Writing is another critical tool in any communication toolbox. While in high school, I earned a perfect score on the SAT's Writing and Language section, and 39/40 on its Reading section, putting me in the 99th percentile. Through private tutoring, I've been able to help students significantly boost their SAT scores and get higher grades on their high school and collegiate papers.

Finally, I love philosophy, political theory, and theology. These are my subject areas of expertise and I would be more than happy to work with anyone high school through grad school on comprehending and engaging with these big ideas.

In tutoring, I seek to emphasize long-term learning over short-term tricks, designing sessions tailored to each student's needs and skills. There isn't a one-size-fits-all cheat code for becoming a better speaker and writer; different students have different hurdles to jump. Through individualized teaching, examples, correction, feedback, tools, and practice, I hope to help each student meet their communication goals.

Please feel free to reach out to me if you have any questions or are interested in learning more!

SAT Reading

Ainsley went over SAT Reading and Writing in a thorough way going over specific SAT reading strategies for every type of passage and clarifying writing structure question types like order and transition of ideas. What was most helpful in the review sessions was the formulaic approach in the writing and reading that allowed for greater consistency and accuracy in the reading section. After 4 reviews I noticed my practice tests going from a 650 range to a 730-770 range. Not being an avid reader myself getting the insight to read in a more critical way and categorizing wrong answers choices gave me a more confident approach in the SAT reading overall. She has been a massive help! Ryan, California
