In the past I have gained a nickname from my students. They call me "the Grammar Hammer." While I've introduced myself as the Grammar Hammer, I've seen that it helps lighten the mood and anxiety of students and help them open up about problems they are having in writing. I'm not one who would just mark something wrong and ask students to change their wording. I mark mistakes and then explain why it needs to be changed.
My undergraduate degree from Liberty University is in General Studies, but instead of just one major, like most degrees, I have the equivalent of 3 different minors. They are English, Special Education, and Psychology.
I encourage students to contact me if they are interested in help.
