During the day, I spend my time working as an Associate Director of Disability Resources at a university. I help students realize, and utilize accommodations to give the access to the curriculum. I present workshops on study skills, self help, and many areas of executive functioning weaknesses. I love my current position and I am energized by the students I serve.
Previously, I worked in various school systems, as a special education teacher, at all levels of the educational system from elementary through high school. Teaching and learning is a passion of mine and working with students, who may need an extra push is my specialty. Learning is development and can be done in a supportive environment without the pain of feeling like a failure.
I have taught all levels K-6, Algebra and Geometry. I have the ability to make math fun and interactive so that connections in learning the skills and concepts can be made during remediation. I am certified as a Wilson instructor, taught self -contained reading for the duration of my teaching career. Many classes towards my reading specialist endorsement on my teaching license. I taught elementary school for five years.
Please contact me if you think I may be the best fit for you! I looking forward to succeeding together.
