Hi! I am a chemist with experience tutoring chemistry and math at all levels as well as helping elementary school kids with reading and writing. I think relating to students and understanding how they learn is the most crucial part of teaching and something that can be lost in today's school system. I believe anyone can learn challenging concepts if it is conveyed in a way that is unique to them!

I enjoy helping students reach that point of realization when something that has challenged or stressed them is relieved. The goal is not to be your tutor forever! My strategy is to think outside the box and break down the concepts into smaller and easier to understand pieces. That can be very challenging and unique for certain individuals, but I enjoy the challenge!

Math was always my favorite subject in school specifically because there's a correct answer, but not always one way to get there. Math is a highly conceptual subject and requires an understanding of how to visualize or wrap your head around what the numbers mean. That can be different for each and every person and I like to help students get there, too!

I have two Bachelor of Science Degrees in Chemistry and Nanoscience. I work in a production environment so problem solving is part of my everyday life and I think my greatest strength. I won't give up, I'll go the extra mile and do my own research or find another teaching method until the concepts make sense. I may not be a teacher in my profession, but I'd like to think that teaching is really just communicating knowledge and helps yourself fully understand a subject. I think everyone learns differently and understanding how you learn is applicable to every subject. I look forward to working with any interested students!
