Now working at Burlington as a Front End Service Associate, I have sharpened my communication skills through daily interaction with various customers. In my current position, great attention to detail is required, especially regarding ensuring that all transactions are completed accurately while maintaining inventory—a practice that is accurate and efficient. Moreover, I have been working on keeping the place clean and organized by following store policies toward providing a nice shopping environment.
Since 2023, I have been a babysitter, which has developed my responsibility and ability to connect with people on the issues of personal life. I also have experience in tutoring other students and relatives who are clients with autism, which taught me patience, empathy, and the need for varied educational approaches. More than anything, this experience has been enriching as it lets me make a significant difference in their lives.
As a high school student, from the year 2022 to 2024, I worked as an editor for the High School Literary Magazine. I had to review material and edit it for clarity and conciseness, working with authors and other editors to satisfy publication guidelines. My experience was good, and working well in teams was positive for enhancing my communication skills. This constant effort to produce quality work resulted in the publication of my poem in the "American High School Poets - 2023 Summer Anthology" and its recognition with several awards, including the Creative Writing and Communications Academic Award, and the Creative Talent Scholarship from Hollins University. In high school, I was part of the National Honors Society, where I did 110 hours of volunteer work to show that I am a very committed person who works hard and attains excellent community service. These experiences have collectively shaped my ability to lead, collaborate, and achieve excellence in various endeavors.
