Hi, I'm Yang, a student at Cornell University majoring in Biology. Over the past few years, I’ve helped students with one question in mind: How can I support you in telling your story?

Because truthfully, college admissions boil down to telling your story in the most effective manner possible. A strong application is not just about having the most impressive accomplishment; it is about understanding yourself deeply enough to explain what your experiences reveal about you. That is where I can help.

Many students have meaningful stories, but they do not always know which moments are worth writing about or how to turn those moments into a narrative. My goal is to help students dig deeper, recognize what makes their story unique, and shape their ideas in a way that feels personal and truly representative of who they are.

Beyond college counseling, I also help students strengthen another important aspect of their application: the SAT. After earning a 1550 (760 Math, 790 EBRW) on the SAT, I was able to develop test-taking strategies focused on approaching difficult questions, managing time, and avoiding common traps. Every student learns differently, and I can help them identify patterns in their mistakes and build strategies tailored to their individual strengths and weaknesses.

I’d love to work with you to achieve your goals, whether it be crafting a compelling college essay or improving your SAT score. My goal is simple: to make sure your application stands out. Feel free to reach out!

College Counseling

College Counseling

Whether it be creating the perfect college list or writing an activities list that captures the attention of admissions officers, I've been through the process and understand what it takes to make an application stand out. Going through the admissions process myself, I've been admitted to multiple universities, including Cornell, University of Virginia, and Emory, and I've also helped others gain admission to elite institutions. I am excited to help you craft your very own personal narrative, and my extensive experience navigating college admissions has given me the abilities to help you along your journey in making a successful college application.
Essay Writing

Essay Writing

I've worked with high school seniors navigating their college applications, streamlining their thoughts into narratives that help them stand out in front of college admission officers. From word flow to content structure, every piece needs to come together to form a cohesive and impactful essay that brings the students' words to life on paper. I know this is a stressful journey, and my goal is to make sure you feel supported throughout the process.
Personal Statements

Personal Statements

I know how overwhelming the college application process can feel, especially when you are trying to turn years of experiences, activities, and goals into one strong essay. As a Cornell student who has gone through the admissions process myself, I understand how important it is to create an application that feels personal, organized, and genuine. I love helping students brainstorm meaningful story ideas, shape their essays into clear narratives, and make sure their own voice comes through. My goal is to make the process feel less stressful while helping each student build essays that truly reflect who they are.
SAT Math

SAT Math

Having taken the Digital SAT myself and earned a 760 on the Math section, I understand how frustrating it can be when a question looks much harder than it actually is. I enjoy helping students find the simpler path, whether that means learning a better Desmos strategy, fixing a recurring mistake, or looking at a problem from a different angle. I am patient and like to explain concepts in a way that matches how each student thinks instead of forcing everyone to use the same method. My goal is for students to feel more comfortable with SAT Math and walk into the test knowing they have a clear plan.
SAT Reading

SAT Reading

Having earned a 790 on the SAT Reading and Writing section, I understand how subtle wording can make two answer choices seem equally convincing. I enjoy showing students how to slow down, identify what the question is truly asking, and recognize why tempting answers are wrong. Because I have taken the Digital SAT myself, I can also share practical strategies for managing the shorter passages and adapting to the test’s pacing. My goal is to make reading questions feel less intimidating while helping each student become a more confident and careful test-taker.
SAT Writing

SAT Writing

I earned a 790 on the SAT Reading and Writing section and became comfortable with the grammar patterns the Digital SAT tests again and again. I help students understand why a sentence works instead of asking them to memorize a long list of rules. I especially enjoy taking questions that initially feel vague or confusing and showing students how punctuation, sentence structure, and context point to the answer. My goal is to make SAT Writing feel straightforward and help students answer with confidence rather than second-guessing themselves.
