Hello! I am Joshua, a current senior in McLean, VA. I have over eight years of experience in both Science Olympiad and trumpet performance.
In Science Olympiad, I’ve competed at regional, state, and national levels, earning over 70 medals across 34 tournaments in advanced biology and chemistry events including Anatomy & Physiology, Disease Detectives, Microbe Mission, BioProcess Lab, and Potions & Poisons. As Captain of my High School’s 40-member team, I’ve led event training, coordinated mock tournaments, and helped raise our state ranking from 27th to 9th. I also serve as Assistant Coach for a Middle School, mentoring students who went on to place 1st–5th at regional and state tournaments.
For trumpet, I am currently First Chair of the DC Youth Orchestra, qualifying for the Talent Development Program Scholarship, as well as being section Leader of my school's marching band. I’ve performed at the Kennedy Center and Carnegie Hall and won top placements in international competitions(e.g. semifinalist at International Trumpet Guild Competition).
