I hold a Virginia Collegiate Professional Teaching License with endorsements in Health & Physical Education (PreK–12) and Middle School Science (grades 6–8), plus a B.S. in Exercise Science/Kinesiology from Liberty University. I've taught Life and Earth Science at Atlantic Shores Christian School, Biofit and Health & PE at Virginia Beach City Public Schools, and taught in homeschool co-ops — so I know exactly where middle schoolers get stuck, and how to get them unstuck.
My specialty is the student who says "I'm just not a science person." I break tough topics into plain, everyday language, use real-world examples, and adjust to how your child actually learns — no cookie-cutter lessons. I'm also experienced with online learning (Canvas, Google Classroom, Zoom), so remote sessions run smoothly.
Homeschool families are very welcome — I'm happy to align with your curriculum, fill gaps, or prepare for tests.
A few fun facts: I run a small poultry farm (chickens, turkeys, geese, ducks, guinea fowl), so life science isn't just a subject for me — it's my daily life. I bring that same curiosity into every lesson.
