Hi, I'm Alex! I graduated from James Madison with an Bachelor's degree in Engineering while getting a minor in math. My love for teaching truly began during two impactful years as a high school math tutor. I discovered a joy for connecting with students one-on-one and seeing them progress in confidence in themselves as well as a greater grasp of the topics. This passion carried on into college when I became a teaching assistant for my Engineering classes.

Beyond traditional classroom settings, my approach to education is shaped by hands-on and experiential learning. Through a year of teaching outdoor education classes to groups of 8-15 students at Annunciation Heights and my broader experience as a camp counselor, I developed dynamic methods to keep learners engaged. I firmly believe in making mathematics memorable and real by applying concepts to tangible, real-world scenarios and weaving in stories that resonate with students' interests. This allows me to connect the subject matter to things they already love, making abstract problems into relatable challenges.
My goal is to help students grasp mathematical principles, apply them practically, and build lasting confidence in themselves.
