I have eighteen years of experience teaching English in Virginia. I have taught at the middle school through college levels. I am a teacher consultant with the Virginia writing project and have served as president of two regional English associations.

I taught English in Russia and Montenegro and tutored international students at Virginia Tech. I love to teach writing and to help students discover that they have something to say.

I enjoy teaching public speaking as well. Some of my former speech and drama students now work in Hollywood and on Broadway, but if i can just help someone develop enough confidence to speak in public, I am happy.

I expect my students to work hard and have some fun at the same time. If you want to be challenged, but you want someone there to hold your safety net for you, then I am your person.
