I am currently pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science at the University of Virginia, where I maintain a 3.85 GPA and have consistently earned Dean’s List honors. While my academic background is in computer science, my coursework and problem-solving training are deeply rooted in mathematics, including discrete mathematics, logical reasoning, and quantitative analysis. This foundation allows me to tutor math subjects with clarity and structure, helping students understand not just how to solve problems, but why the methods work.

I have been tutoring mathematics for approximately one year through both Kumon and a tutoring club at the University of Virginia. At Kumon, I worked primarily with elementary and middle school students in one-on-one and small-group settings, focusing on building strong math fundamentals, accuracy, and confidence through guided practice and incremental progression. Through my college tutoring club, I also supported students closer to my own age by helping them work through homework, exam preparation, and challenging concepts, adapting my explanations to different learning styles and levels of familiarity.

My tutoring approach emphasizes patience, repetition, and active engagement. I focus on identifying gaps in understanding, breaking problems into manageable steps, and reinforcing skills through practice rather than memorization. I aim to create a supportive learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and steadily build confidence in their math abilities, leading to long-term improvement and independent problem-solving skills.
