Hello, y'all! I'd love to help you grow as you read, write, and research.
Why should you trust me? Well, I hold a PhD in Writing and Rhetoric and while I was researching, I received an educational fellowship for my dissertation. I also have a Masters in Teaching Writing and Literature and I received an award for being a remarkable English graduate student writer. My undergrad degree was also in English, with a certification to teach English.
TL; DR, I've spent the last 11 years teaching, writing, reading, and researching.
Want to know more?
I taught middle school English for five years and I've taught undergraduate writing courses for five years. For four years, I taught writing and reading at academic enrichment camps for students in elementary grades through high school. I have also co-taught a graduate course for teachers of English and mentored graduate students studying to teach English during their field work.
In my classes, I present some material to the whole class, but focus on small group work and one-on-one conferences. I use writing, reading, speaking, reflection, and feedback to help my students grow as readers and writers. My teaching focuses on relevant topics and materials that students care about. Past students describe me as caring, detail-oriented, and helpful.
TL;DR, I'm all about helping students grow as they write, read, research, and teach. Reach out today to schedule our first session!
