Hello, my name is Amanda C. I am a University of Virginia graduate excited to offer my tutoring assistance for K-12 with special focus on English, Writing, Study Skills and Organization. My approach is to be available when my students need me, so we can work together towards gradual improvement. When it comes to developing excellent study skills, practice and patience goes a long way and I know from my experience as a student how to develop a healthy relationship with homework and time management. For high school students, I offer assistance with thesis and/or research essays and the college application process, specifically with essay writing.
A little about my background is that I have a full time position as a Marketing Specialist but first and foremost I am a forever student. Some of my greatest achievements in high school: I graduated with a GPA of 4.3, won top in my class awards for Latin and Literature, got a 5 on my Latin and Literature AP exams, a 4 in US History and got a high score of 700 for the writing component of the SAT. I worked in a school for six years as an after-school assistant. I invested my time in getting to know students from grades K-6 with all different backgrounds and academic levels, helping them with their homework and building up their spirits! I attribute my passion for learning to my supportive parents and the wonderful tutors I had while attending middle and high school. They inspired me to reach my potential and continue striving even when a particular subject was bringing me down. I hope to inspire you as my student!
