Are you seeking personalized guidance on how to analyze a text, direct your research, and plan the content and structure of an essay, all while ensuring that the work is entirely your own? Would you like to have clear, prompt feedback on your writing that is far more detailed than β€œanalyze,” β€œrephrase,” and β€œunclear?” Do you wish you could not only excel in your Latin or Ancient Greek class, but develop the skills that will enable you to read ancient texts with thorough understanding and enjoyment? If any of these questions resonate with you, I would be delighted to work with you.
I received my B.A. in Classics and philosophy from Swarthmore College, graduating with highest honors and Phi Beta Kappa. I then received an M.A. in Classics from the University of Chicago and a J.D. from the University of Virginia, after which I practiced law for several years.
For more than ten years, I have worked with students in high school, college, and beyond in Classics (Latin, Ancient Greek, and literature in translation), English, French, German, and philosophy. AP exam preparation for Latin and English is a focus of my tutoring, and students who have worked with me steadily have scored 5s on their AP exams. In addition to providing guidance for coursework, I advise students pursuing independent studies and writing competitions.
I prepare thoroughly for each meeting so that my students receive the highest quality of instruction in the most efficient manner possible. My goal is for you to make meaningful progress, gain clear direction for further learning, and enjoy every time we work together.

Excellent Latin Teacher!

Diana is a super organized, well prepared and very encouraging teacher. My son enjoys his classes with Diana and will continue his Latin classes with her throughout his high school years. We highly recommend her!

Very knowledgeable.

My son is excited to work with her. He said the kids in his school class are not learning half of what she is covering. He is thankful to be working with her.πŸ€πŸ€πŸ€πŸ€πŸ€πŸ€πŸ€πŸ€πŸ€πŸ€πŸ€πŸ€πŸ€πŸ€πŸ€πŸ€πŸ€πŸ€πŸ€πŸ€πŸ€πŸ€πŸ€

Latin

Diana helped my son, Zayne, prepare for his Latin final. She was very knowledgeable and kind, helping my son understand declensions. She also went over some examples with him.

Wonderful, knowledgeable tutor

Diana was so very helpful and thoughtful in helping my college freshman daughter with her paper on Ancient Greek History. She dug right into the content, identified what my daughters deficits and helped her move in the right direction toward completion of her assignment. Highly recommend Diana!

Excellent tutor

Diana was able to get to the root of the problem so that my teen could build a solid foundation. She left us clear and actionable notes to work on after the session. Thank you!

Great tutor.

Latin is not the easiest language, period. My son who is required to take it this year, has gone from seriously struggling to an A- as Diana has been great in helping guide him and distilling down the subject matter for my son to grasp. Would highly recommend Diana.

Latin tutoring session

Diana jumped right in and was excellent. Super positive and encouraging. Amazing how quickly she was able to assess the needs and get to work. She is so responsive and easy to work with.

so grateful!

I continue to be ever so grateful for Diana! She is a wonderful, caring and extremely intelligent person. We struck gold finding a tutor whose EQ is as high as her IQ! Diana is reviving my daughters interest in a subject an incompetent teacher had almost destroyed for her. Diana is a great fit for my daughter. She is cheerful, upbeat, engaging, and encouraging with excellent communication skills. Not only does she make Latin fun: she has such a thorough understanding of the subject, I know she will take a lot of stress off my daughter.

Knowledgeable, patient and kind tutor

Diana is incredibly responsive and was able to work my daughter in quickly, reassure her and fill in the needed gaps before her AP Latin test. The feedback she provided after their session was also very helpful. We feel so lucky to have found Diana!
