Hello! I'm a passionate trumpet player who wants to share my love of music with others! I graduated summa cum laude from Oklahoma State University with a Bachelor of Music in Trumpet Performance and a Bachelor of Science in Economics and earned a Masters of Music at The Hartt School. Hello! I'm a passionate trumpet player who wants to share my love of music with others! I graduated summa cum laude from Oklahoma State University with a Bachelor of Music in Trumpet Performance and a Bachelor of Science in Economics and earned a Masters of Music at The Hartt School. I am currently pursuing my Doctorate in Music. I love working with students of all ages and view both performing and teaching as a way to serve others. My teaching philosophy centers on a multi-faceted approach, not only focusing on trumpet technique but also integrating relevant music theory, history, and aural skills with the goal of helping students become better all-around musicians. I also offer Suzuki Method lessons!

I also teach lessons in music theory, ear training, and sightsinging. Whether you are a young student eager to learn more about music, a high school student preparing for the AP Music Theory test, an incoming college music major preparing for entrance exams, or a music enthusiast who wants to expand their knowledge of the intimidating "academic" side of music, I will work with you to help you reach your individual goals.

I have maintained a private studio of trumpet students for over seven years, teaching both in-person and virtually. Some students have auditioned into honor bands, while others who were behind in band have caught up to their peers and gained confidence in their musical abilities. I have taken courses in Trumpet Pedagogy and in Sightsinging and Aural Skills Pedagogy in which I learned how to cater to each student's personal learning style and interests.

I also have a passion for Economics, and I am glad to get to stay involved in the field. I greatly enjoy tutoring students in a variety of different Econ courses and helping demystify the subject!

I require 12 hours of notice to cancel a lesson. No-shows will be charged the full amount.

In addition to taking two years of ear training courses during my undergraduate years, I have completed an independent study course focused on Ear Training/Sightsinging Pedagogy with Nataša Kaurin-Karača, an expert in the field. Through this I learned about various pedagogical approaches and gained experience teaching this subject both in the classroom and in private lessons.

I graduated summa cum laude from Oklahoma State University with a Bachelor of Music, and I am now pursuing my Masters of Music. I have taken over four years of music theory courses at the undergraduate and graduate levels, including AP Music Theory, Common Practice Theory, Form Analysis, Post-Tonal Theory, and Theory Analysis for Performance. I have also taught supplemental lessons in music theory to trumpet students.

I will be graduating with my Doctor of Musical Arts in 2 weeks. I have taken music history courses at the bachelors, masters, and doctoral levels. These courses have spanned Western music history from antiquity to present, Global Music, and religious music. I have also taken a doctoral-level course on Music History Pedagogy.

I am currently pursuing my Master of Music in Trumpet Performance, which requires high level courses in Sightsinging, Music Theory, and Music History. In addition to taking two years of Sightsinging courses during my undergraduate years, I have completed an independent study course focused on Sightsinging Pedagogy with Nataša Kaurin-Karača, an expert in the field. Through this I learned about various pedagogical approaches and systems and gained experience teaching this subject both in the classroom and in private lessons. I have also sung in choirs for 7 years and have taken private voice lessons.

I am pursuing my Doctorate in Trumpet Performance & Pedagogy and earned a Masters degree in Trumpet Performance at The Hartt School and a Bachelor of Music in Trumpet Performance from Oklahoma State University. I have experience performing professionally at churches and independent concerts around the country. Additionally, I have performed in award-winning ensembles including the First Place Large Ensemble of the 2018 National Trumpet Competition. I maintain a private studio of trumpet students and have taught a wide range of ages and abilities. I am also certified as a Suzuki Trumpet teacher.

Steffi has done 2 lessons so far with my 10 year old daughter who is just learning trumpet. Has been great and making it more fun for her. Plan to keep doing weekly lessons.
