Hello! My name is Salama. I graduated magna cum laude with a Bachelor’s degree in Physics, and a minor in Mathematics from the University of Maryland. During my time in college the most rewarding part was sharing what I learnt. I was always eager to help out my classmates understand the course material whether it was physics, calculus or math in general. Seeing it click in their mind is what inspires me to teach. To me teaching math is much more than just providing a series of steps to solve a problem. I take the time to first understand where the student is academically by working through problems together. By observing the student's way of thinking I can develop a teaching plan catered to them. That way their specific weaknesses can be addressed and no time is wasted in explaining concepts they already know.
I worked as a physics teacher assistant at the University of Maryland for one year where I instructed a group of 15 - 20 students. I taught introductory physics to medical students and made sure to answer any questions they had. I held office hours after class to work directly with any students that needed further assistance. After that I began doing private one-on-one tutoring sessions with high school students & college students. For over two years I've been teaching Physics, Calculus, Algebra 1 & 2, and Trigonometry.
Please feel free to reach out if you have any questions or would like to schedule a lesson! I am quick to reply and I look forward to helping you.
