Greetings:
I am Shakila D. and my students affectionally call me Ms. D. I have been teaching in Public and Private schools for thirty years, and retired June 2021.
I received my undergraduate BA degree at Queens College, New York and continued my graduate studies at Virginia State University, Petersburg, Virginia. I currently hold the Commonwealth of Virginia Collegiate Professional License
During my teaching career I taught Family and Consumer Science, Spanish and ESL classes. I tutored Spanish & ESL writing at the local Community College for five years.

My teaching style is first to learn about the student, and allow the student to learn about me. We want to connect as partners on the journey of achieving proficiency.
Students are encouraged to triumph through a plethora of innovative and creative resources. Our sessions will focus on grammar, conversations, writing, and the Hispanic culture within the United States of America.
