Hi! I’m a pre-medical biology graduate from Virginia Commonwealth University’s Honors College, where I also minored in Chemistry and Psychology. During college, I discovered that my favorite subjects were the ones taught by professors who made learning engaging and approachable. I wish to bring that same energy to my sessions, and want to help students build strong foundations in MCAT CARS, Psychology, and Sociology through discussion and strategic practice.

Hi! I’m a pre-medical biology graduate from Virginia Commonwealth University’s Honors College, where I also minored in Chemistry and Psychology. During college, I discovered that my favorite subjects were the ones taught by professors who made learning engaging and approachable. I wish to bring that same energy to my sessions, and want to help students build strong foundations in MCAT CARS, Psychology, and Sociology through discussion and strategic practice.

My tutoring experience began through programs like the READ Center and Village Book Builders, where I helped both adult learners and international students strengthen their reading, writing, and science skills. Those roles taught me how to adapt lessons to different learning styles and cultural backgrounds. I understand the importance of active learning and critical thinking. It is important to guide students to understand the “why” behind each concept rather than simply memorizing facts. Having self-studied for the MCAT while balancing school and research, I understand how stressful the process can be, so I aim to create a calm, supportive environment that builds confidence and consistency.

I want to help every student I work with reach their fullest potential and genuinely enjoy the learning process along the way. The best tutor I ever met!!! Would def recommend...

He exactly went over what I was struggling with and paid attention to my weak areas. He made a whole PowerPoint presentation just to explain how to tackle CARS passages, and it was very helpful for me. We also went over passages together, and he explained why or why not every answer choice was correct/incorrect. He gave me tips on how to highlight on CARS passages. Overall, I would rate the session 10/10. Thank you, Devam. Even one session with you helped a lot.

I worked with Devam for MCAT CARS prep, and he was honestly super helpful. He started by giving me a PowerPoint that laid out the general strategy for approaching CARS, which made everything feel way more manageable. During our sessions, he helped walk me through passages and would point me in the right direction by highlighting evidence straight from the text instead of just giving away the answer. That really helped me understand how to think through each question. Overall, Devam was patient, easy to talk to, and really good at breaking things down. I definitely feel more confident with CARS now, and I’d recommend him to anyone who wants to improve their approach and accuracy.
