Why should you choose me to be your Public Speaking tutor? Well...I have literally taught thousands of high school and college students not only how to speak in public, but how to write and deliver very effective speeches to a wide variety of students. My "secret" is to meet you EXACTLY where you are and build on your strengths to help overcome your weaknesses. I want to help you become the best speaker that you can be. Everyone has a story to tell--and my job is to help you tell yours to the very best of your ability.
My background in public relations, marketing, education and non-profit management and began my career as a marketing consultant for Chick-fil-A, coordinating all of the marketing efforts, special events and media placement for stores throughout North Carolina. I then worked as a meeting planner, planning over 500 meetings for groups as large as 3,000 attendees, screening 1,000s of professional speakers and booking them as keynote and break-out speakers. My Bachelor of Arts is from Elon University and my Master of Mass Communications degree from the University of South Carolina. Since 2009, I have taught over 1,200 students on the art of Public Speaking at both the high school and college level.
Through years of education and real life experience, I have learned to treat each student as the individual that you are--meeting you right where you are--and I then help you to build up your strengths to become the best speakers that they can be. I am very approchable, fun and direct.
I know that a lot of Public Speaking teachers prefer Skype--and that is just fine for our initial meeting, if you want. However, to improve on your speech, I use good 'ole video review to help you become a better speaker. (If you have ever watched sports or know someone who plays them--they spend HOURS upon HOURS watching film in order to become better.) If you already have a speech and you just want help on how you can improve--send me your video and we will go from there. It is AMAZING what you can learn from watching
