I graduated from the University of Alabama with a degree in Geography and a minor in Geology. While in college I supplemented my formal education by working in sail training programs to teach leadership, life skills, and environmental responsibility to youth ages 14 - 20. While in college I supplemented my formal education by working in sail training programs to teach leadership, life skills, and environmental responsibility to youth ages 14 - 20. I have also worked with the Legacy Project in Alabama which brings educators and environmental science students together to learn from one another by teaching students to develop lesson plans while the students pass on environmental knowledge on to the educators. As a result of this unique combination of education and experience I have developed an approach to tutoring that involves supplementing the core requirements of a student's curriculum with real life experiences.
Along with experience and education in environmental sciences I have a passion for studying history. Most of my electives in college included a range of world an American history. I am a living historian for 19th century American life and rely on this experience to create an exciting view of our past.
