Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)

I took the Autism Workshop provided by New York State Department of Education. This certification allows me to work with children suffering from different spectrum disorders.

College Counseling

College counseling is a process that involves guiding high school students through the college application process, understanding the student’s interests, goals and ambitions, recommending classes, extracurricular activities and volunteer work, crafting a college list, counseling about the required essays, obtaining recommendations, coordinating college visits, preparing for the college interview. Moreover, college counseling also includes managing expectations and setting reasonable goals, both for the student and the parents. Since I had about 2 years of experience in helping high school students by providing them with college counseling, researching colleges, preparing applications, interviewing, and setting goals. I also used to work for Hunter College in the Financial Aid department which gave experience with Financial Aid applications.

Elementary (K-6th)

I had taken 20 hrs training to teach K-6th. Additionally, I am pursuing a Master's degree in Elementary Education (K-^th) at Mercy College.

ESL/ESOL

I passed the Oral Proficiency Interview (OPI) and Writing Proficiency Test (WPT) by the American Council for Teaching of Foreign Languages (ACTFL). This certification allows me to teach ESL/ESOL as well as Bilingual Education.

Microsoft Excel

I teach Microsoft Excel, accounting, and QuickBooks to adults and students who want to either get a better job or switch careers.

Phonics

I am pursuing a Master Degree in Elementary Education. I am currently tutoring with another company, as well. The tutoring sessions include phonics and ELA.

Praxis

The Praxis Series tests are taken by individuals entering the teaching profession as part of the certification process required by many states and professional licensing organizations. I had taken and passed the praxis in Business Education and Spanish from the State of New Jersey. I got above the passing grades. That is the reason I am seeking certification. I believe my experience in taking these tests will be very useful to others.

That way you can quickly find what you need when you need it, including money coming in and money going out of your business. It also helps you to track sales, create professional invoices and receive payments from customers. It is a very user friendly accounting software that organizes your financial records throughout the year, allowing you to find needed information during tax time. Moreover, I am a Certified QuickBooks ProAdvisor by Intuit.

Sewing

Sewing is the craft of fastening or attaching objects using stitches made with a needle and thread. Sewing is one of the oldest of the textile arts, arising in the Paleolithic era. Although usually associated with clothing and household linens, sewing is used in a variety of crafts and industries, including shoemaking, upholstery, sailmaking, bookbinding and the manufacturing of some kinds of sporting goods. Sewing is the fundamental process underlying a variety of textile arts and crafts, including embroidery, tapestry, quilting, appliqué and patchwork Throughout my life, I had designed window treatments, dresses and many craft projects involving sewing.

Spanish

100 % FLUENT I had passed Oral Proficiency Interview as well as Writing Proficiency Test from American Council for Teaching Foreign Languages in both English and Spanish. This expertise allows me to teach Bilingual education as well as TESOL and Spanish.

I had taken several Study Skills workshops while attending Bernard Baruch College and I had helped students to better their study skills at my job as a substitute teacher for NYC Department of Education. Thanks

Tax Accounting

Tax preparation is the process of preparing tax returns, often income tax returns, often for a person other than the taxpayer, and generally for compensation. Tax preparation may be done by the taxpayer with or without the help of tax preparation software and online services. Tax preparation may also be done by a licensed professional such as an attorney, certified public accountant or enrolled agent, or by an unlicensed tax preparation business. Because United States income tax laws are considered to be complicated, many taxpayers seek outside assistance with taxes (59.2% of individual tax returns in 2007 were filed by paid preparers). Tax Preparers are usually certified to prepare the following forms: 1040, 1040EZ, 1120S, NYS45,and so forth. New regulations require all paid tax return preparers to have a Preparer Tax Identification Number and attend continuing education classes. The IRS is also phasing in a new test requirement to make sure those who are not an enrolled agent, CPA, or attorney have met minimal competency requirements. Those subject to the test will become a Registered Tax Return Preparer once they pass it. I am an Accountant with over 10 years of experience. I am also a tax preparer for the state of New York. I have my PTIN and NYTIN. I am also getting reading to take the CPA examination which will allow me to obtain my license as a CPA in the state of New York. I also own my own tax preparation business.
