Medical Student w/ a Masters degree in Physiology & Pharmacology

Hello! My name is Kristen, I’m a second year Medical School Student. I have a graduate degree in Physiology and Pharmacology, but I also loved my Genetics, Microbiology and Anatomy courses. As a medical student, I am familiar with a variety of different study techniques and new ways to learn science. One of the best ways to understand a topic is to teach it to someone else, which is how I get top grades in my courses but also why I love tutoring so much!

As a medical student, I have an in depth knowledge of anatomy and physiology, as well as the various microorganisms that can cause human disease! I spent 4 years in my undergrad doing research with antibiotic resistant micro-organisms and love to teach micro to my classmates. I also spent 2 years of my grad degree in a neuropharmacology lab studying drugs of abuse and learned simple ways to teach the basic principles of pharmacology.

I’ll be honest, I hated genetics with a passion when I first learned it and my grades reflected it. But my graduate school professor was a wonderful teacher and now it’s one of my favorite subjects! I understand what’s it’s like to not understand these complex topics and that’s what makes me a better tutor than someone who never struggled! You can understand these subjects, and I’d love to help you get there.

I have a graduate degree that covered all the subjects I offer to tutor and I’m currently earning my medical degree. I know the tips and tricks for memorizing weird bugs and drugs and as well as the important anatomical relationships that are highly testable across the board.
