Hello! I'm Alyssa, and I have had a passion for working with students and families for as long as I can remember. My first teaching experience was international while I was in high school, where I had the opportunity to teach at a bilingual school in the Dominican Republic. During that experience, I fell in love with teaching, the Spanish language, and working with English language learners (ESL). From that moment on, I knew education was where I wanted to be.

I earned my Bachelor's degree in Business: Project Management from Liberty University and have started my Master's degree in Elementary Education. Most recently, I have worked as an instructional assistant in kindergarten, as well as a long-term substitute teacher in kindergarten, first grade, and high school ESL classrooms.
My goal is to help students not only succeed academically but also discover the joy of learning. When students are engaged and confident, they retain information more effectively and develop a lifelong love of learning. I create personalized, engaging lessons using hands-on activities, visuals, and interactive teaching strategies that meet each student where they are.
My lessons typically follow the gradual release model, starting with "I Do, We Do, and You Do". First, students will have the concepts modeled for them. Next, students will work through examples with the teacher. Finally, students will be able to complete problems independently. We review answers together, discuss any misconceptions, and celebrate progress. Students conclude each lesson by explaining the concept in their own words to reinforce understanding and build confidence.
Whether your student needs support in reading, math, homework, ESL, or building confidence in the classroom, I am committed to creating a positive, encouraging learning environment where they can thrive.
Please feel free to reach out with any questions about your student's needs. I'd love the opportunity to help them reach their goals, and I look forward to working with your family!
