At the end of this semester, I will have completed my Biology degree, I have also taken 3 semesters of chemistry and 3 semesters of Earth Science classes. I have taken 8 different Education courses at Longwood so I am also highly educated on how to properly teach topics in multiple views of learning. My teaching style is related to the 5 E's model and I try to relly heavily on Virginia take on the NGSS curriculum. I also try to focus on incorporating everyday scenarios or objects into my lessons to give students an easier connection to the material. The main reason I wish to become a tutor is to gain more experience with teaching Biology, Chemistry, and Earth Science. I also wish to become a tutor to help students near Farmville receive a more hands-on science education approach that is sometimes not offered at public schools.
I have a deep understanding of Biology, the areas that I love are the cell cycle, water cycle, carbon cycle, nitrogen cycle, evolution, and DNA synthesis. I also have a good understanding of general chemistry as well as Earth Science. My favorite topics in Earth Science is Geology and Oceanography. I have an overall GPA of 3.37 and my Biology Major GPA is 3.38 so I am very educated in the field of Biology.
