Hi! I am a Virginia-certified high school Social Studies teacher with Fairfax County Public Schools currently teaching U.S. History and U.S. Government in Northern Virginia. I help high school students strengthen their understanding of Government and U.S. History while building confidence with essays, assessments, and course assignments. I also support students preparing for AP Government, AP U.S. History, and Virginia Standards of Learning (SOL) exams.

Because I teach these subjects daily in the classroom, I understand how teachers design assignments and evaluate student work. I regularly help students develop strong thesis statements, organize essays, analyze primary sources, prepare for DBQs, and interpret charts, graphs, and quantitative analysis used in Government and History coursework.

My tutoring sessions are structured, supportive, and focused on helping students break down complex material into manageable steps. I work with students at the General Education and Honors levels, including English Language Learners and AVID students, and adapt instruction to different learning styles while maintaining clear academic expectations.

Students I work with often need help with:

• Understanding difficult Government and U.S. History concepts
• Developing strong thesis statements and organizing essays
• Interpreting primary sources and DBQs
• Preparing for SOL exams and classroom assessments
• Improving organization and study strategies

I am also available to work with college students taking introductory government or political science courses who may need help understanding core concepts, interpreting political data, or preparing for exams and written assignments.

My goal is not only to help students complete an assignment or prepare for a test, but to build confidence and academic skills that carry over into future coursework.

If you are looking for structured academic support from a current classroom teacher, I would be happy to help.
