I am a college student who has a good academic background in mathematics and has a real interest in assisting students to gain confidence in math and English. During high school, I was able to achieve A and A-level grades in math courses, which allowed me to gain a good grasp of the basic and intermediate concepts. Due to this, I feel comfortable explaining material in a clear manner, breaking down problems step by step, and modifying my explanations to suit the learning style of a student. I like to make people see the things that may seem confusing at first and demonstrate that math is not as difficult as it may seem.
Besides math, I would like to work with students with English since it is a field that I had to struggle to master myself. My personal academic experience taught me the best methods of reading comprehension, organizing ideas, enhancing grammar, and reinforcing written responses. This experience will enable me to understand students who might have difficulties with English and require clear and patient instructions. Instead of memorizing, I pay attention to such practical methods as learning prompts, summarizing answers, and rewriting work carefully.
