Hi, My name is Mitra and I have been teaching French and Farsi for many years and in various capacities. I am a native Farsi speaker, as well as near-native French speaker. I have worked as a professional interpreter and translator in both languages. In addition to being a college professor at two undergraduate institutions, I have also served as the Head of the French language program at a private, college preparatory school.
With more than 20 years of teaching experience across secondary, undergraduate, and adult education settings, I bring depth, warmth, and rigor to language instruction. I am familiar with teaching students of different ages, being mindful of their interests, their pace of learning, and their goals. As the head of the French program, I have taught levels I, II, III, IV, and AP, emphasizing speaking, accent improvement, grammar, essay-writing, and preparing students, especially for their AP prep. My style is patient, effective, making the student feel comfortable to practice, practice, and practice some more!
As a native Farsi speaker, tutor, and interpreter, I will help you learn the Farsi idioms, teaching you from the basics of greetings, all the way to the higher levels of speaking, reading, and writing while building your confidence with Farsi.
