With more than 20 years of teaching experience across secondary, undergraduate, and adult education settings, I bring depth, warmth, and rigor to language instruction. Having served as a professor at two undergraduate institutions, I most recently taught French to students at a highly regarded residential preparatory secondary school.
My teaching philosophy is rooted in communicative, proficiency-based instruction, where meaningful student interaction takes precedence over lecture and language is learned through real use--videos, music, literature, cultural exploration, and experiential activities. I take a globally-minded, student-centered approach grounded in joy, relevance, and high expectations, emphasizing compassion, cultural competency, and confidence-building.
Drawing on my background in community service and youth leadership initiatives, I am deeply committed to my students and their growth--helping them not only master language, but also engage thoughtfully with the world and one another.
