I know what it is like to overcome adversity to achieve success beyond the imaginable. I was poor as a child -- the youngest of six children raised by an uneducated single mother. Because of the encouragement from one of my junior high school teachers, I was accepted into Phillips Exeter with full scholarship at the age of 13. This opened a whole world of opportunities for me. In addition to being a published author in behavioral finance while still at Columbia, I co-authored several papers on adolescent suicide prevention as a research scientist at the NY State Psychiatric Institute. After that, I lived in Germany for three years working in the banking sector and completed my masters degree at Princeton. I've spent most of the last 35 years working around the world creating and leading businesses in Latin America, Asia, Africa, and the Caribbean. As an entrepreneur and CEO, a large part of my role was developing the local staff I hired, helping them become high performing professionals. And now I am leveraging all that I have learned and experienced to help young people discover and realize the amazing potential that lies within all of us. I became a certified "High Impact Tutor" after completing a rigorous course delivered by Saga Consulting, a world-renowned leader in education. This course has helped me develop a structured, highly effective approach that delivers measurable results. I am available for virtual or in-person tutoring between the hours of 3pm and 8pm M-F and between 9am and 8pm Sat/Sun.
