I firmly believe in continuous improvement, both as a student and as a tutor. Hence, I learn alongside my students, adapting my teaching methods to match their unique learning styles. My schedule is highly flexible, with a preference for planning sessions at least a week in advance. Weekdays are best suited for evening sessions, while weekends offer more flexibility to accommodate varied schedules.

Beside minoring in Abstract Mathematics from SUNY Geneseo, I have finished and done well on all calculus sequence from Calculus I (AP calculus BC) to Linear Algebra. I have taught many students over the past four years in all level of mathematics from grade 2 to college Calculus Level. I have always adjusted my teaching methods based on students learning methods and that has helped me to teach students of all types. I strive to see success in every students I work with on personal level, and previously all my students have done very well from working with me. I have helped many students prepare for Algebra 1 Regents and through consistent and hard work, my students have seen positive progress and outstanding outcome in their regents exam.

Every person has different learning strategies and there is no one universal strategy for all, thus I work one on one basis with my students to build up strategies thats suitable for them. I have successfully tutored many students in SAT Math who went to score above 90th percentile on SAT math, and I look forward to serve even bigger population to get them to score where they want to be.

Tutoring by Shourik D.

Shourik was very helpful to my daughter for reviewing Algebra 1. He was very good at explaining concepts to her and covered 10 different Algebra topics. Most of these topics she had learned before, but he explained them at a deeper level resulting in her having a better understanding than before. He would teach little techniques/tips that were very helpful and easy to remember. If my daughter didn’t understand something, he would try to explain it again in a manner that would help her understand better. He adapted to my daughter's needs of teaching and covered the material that he thought would be best for her. Overall he was just very understanding and a good listener. We would recommend him to anyone who needs to take a standardized exam. In the end, he helped my daughter do very well and pass her placement exam!
