I am a certified secondary history and social studies teacher, as well as a college professor, with a BA, MT, M.Ed. and Ed.D. from the University of Virginia. Additionally, I have 15+ years of teaching experience in Fairfax County and Falls Church City Public Schools, an independent school, and top-tier international schools in Europe, South-East Asia, and the Middle East. I have taught a range of social studies courses from grades 6-12, and I specialize in helping students with critical reading, argumentative writing, and test prep. Furthermore, I am skilled at helping students develop organizational and time-management skills, especially in regard to essay writing and project completion. Finally, I have had several years of tutoring experience and I enjoy working one-on one with students. My students remark that I am patient, attentive, caring, and effective.
I have taught psychology for ten years, including IB DP and AP. My students routinely receive 4 and 5's on the AP Psychology exam.
