I developed a strong foundation in French over many years, beginning in early elementary school and continuing through college, where I earned a Bachelor’s degree in Modern Foreign Languages with a specialization in French, along with a minor in Business French and a second degree in International Business. I graduated magna cum laude and maintained a 4.0 GPA in my French coursework. I also studied abroad in Paris, which strengthened my conversational and cultural understanding of the language. In addition to French, I have experience with Spanish and other languages, which helps me better understand how students learn and retain new material.
My teaching experience has primarily been in one-on-one and informal settings, especially with children and early learners. As a parent, I bring a patient, engaging approach that focuses on making learning enjoyable and building confidence. For younger students, I use interactive techniques such as games, repetition, visual aids, and simple conversation, typically in short, focused sessions that match their attention span. For students already taking French in school, I tailor sessions to their needs, whether that includes reinforcing class material, helping with homework, or preparing for quizzes.
I enjoy working with students of all ages, but I especially love helping children develop a positive relationship with learning a new language. My goal is to create a supportive, low-pressure environment where students feel comfortable participating and improving at their own pace. I also work with parents to understand each student’s goals so sessions feel personalized and effective.
