I am an incoming freshman at the University of Texas at Austin (Turing Scholars) with a strong background in advanced mathematics and extensive teaching experience. I will graduate from Thomas Jefferson High School for Science and Technology (TJHSST) and conducted research in computational complexity theory this past year through PRIMES-USA, one of the most selective high school research programs in the country, admitting roughly 40 students nationwide. I presented my research at the annual MIT PRIMES conference in October 2025 and it was published to the MIT Mathematics website.

My competition credentials include being a five-time AIME qualifier, a USAMO qualifier, a USAPhO qualifier, a National Merit Finalist and Presidential Scholar Nominee, and achieving AMC 12 top 1% Distinguished Honor Roll. These results reflect the exact problem-solving depth that translates directly into SAT Math mastery and AP Calculus success. At the Ross Mathematics Program in Columbus, Ohio (a highly selective six-week residential math camp), I was a Junior Counselor, delivering lectures on advanced topics and mentoring younger students one-on-one. I previously volunteered as a Mathcounts Coach through NorthSouth Foundation, teaching mathematics to underprivileged students in engaging, interactive sessions.

My tutoring approach focuses on building genuine understanding rather than memorizing formulas. I identify each student's specific gaps, work through problems collaboratively, and for SAT prep, emphasize the pattern recognition and pacing strategies I developed through years of competition math. I tailor every session to the individual student's goals.

AMC (Competition math)

As part of my involvement in the AMC series, I have qualified for the USAMO once, the AIME five times, and earned Distinguished Honor Roll on the AMC 12. In addition, I have placed at numerous math competitions across the nation, including at Duke, Berkeley, Stanford, Carnegie Mellon, and Princeton. Outside of competitions, I conducted mathematics research under the MIT PRIMES-USA program and was a Junior Counselor at the Ross Program.
Calculus

Calculus

I am currently a senior at TJHSST enrolled in Differential Equations. I have completed AP Calculus BC, Multivariable Calculus, Linear Algebra, Advanced Math Techniques, and Complex Analysis, with As in the classes and a 5 on the AP Calculus BC exam. I was a Junior Counselor at the Ross Mathematics Program and have extensive experience teaching high school students.
SAT Math

SAT Math

I am a National Merit Finalist and U.S. Presidential Scholars nominee who scored a 1580 on the SAT, including a perfect 800 on the Math section. On my two PSATs, I earned scores of 1520 and 1500 with perfect math scores both times. I have extensive experience with advanced mathematics and SAT problem-solving strategies, and I help students master the concepts and pacing needed to achieve top math scores.

Highly Recommend for SAT Math

Luv was fantastic for our first SAT Math session. He was extremely patient and took the time to understand exactly where I was getting stuck before jumping into problems. His explanations were very clear and easy to follow, and he had a great way of breaking down tricky concepts without making the session feel overwhelming. What stood out most was how well he communicated and how comfortable he made me feel asking questions. He listened carefully, adjusted the lesson to my specific needs, and made sure I actually understood the techniques, tips and strategies that are not available from books or other teachers. I left the session feeling much more confident and with a clear idea of what to work on next. I’d definitely recommend Luv to any student looking for a knowledgeable, patient, and supportive Math tutor.

Best Investment in My Son's Prep

My son has been struggling with AMC for months, and I honestly wasn't sure tutoring would make a real difference after just one session. I was wrong. Luv spent the entire hour figuring out exactly where my son's thinking was breaking down, not just which problems he got wrong but why. He explained competition strategies in a way that actually made sense, and my son came out of the session genuinely excited about math again, which hasn't happened in a while. You can tell Luv has been through this process himself at the highest level and actually cares about passing that on. He even spent extra time after the session creating a custom practice test for my son to work through his weak areas. We're booking more sessions and I'm already recommending him to other parents in our math circle.

Best AMC Tutoring Session Yet!

Really great first session. We worked on AMC problem solving and I walked away with a lot to think about. My tutor helped me get better at recognizing different problem types quickly and picking the right strategy for each one. The session felt very personalized, like the approach was tailored specifically to where I needed to improve rather than just going through generic problems. I'm definitely coming back for more because I feel like I'm just getting started and there's a lot of room to grow!

Incredible First Session — Highly Recommend!

I had my first tutoring session with Luv today for SAT Math, and I honestly didn't expect to walk away feeling this confident after just one hour. I've worked with several tutors before, but this felt genuinely different. From the very first minute, Luv made me feel comfortable. He didn't just jump into problems, he started with what question types scared me most, and went through some of my old practice test mistakes one by one. I told him I always freeze on systems of equations and linear word problems, and he completely built the session around that. He also walked me through his approach to grid-in questions: specifically how to avoid careless errors on problems involving percentages and ratios, and it genuinely clicked. By the end of the session I felt a real shift in how I approach problems. He also sent me a few targeted practice questions to work on before our next session, which tells me he's invested in my progress beyond just the hour we spent together. Luv is patient, calm, and clearly brilliant. I highly recommend him!

The best AMC tutor you'll find; incredibly knowledgeable and genuinely engaging

I was blown away by Luv's depth of knowledge in competition math. What sets him apart is his tutoring style. He doesn't just give you answers, he teaches you how to think about problems. He quickly identified my weak areas, explained key AMC strategies with clarity and patience, and made the session feel collaborative rather than one-sided. As a USAMO and AIME qualifier with research experience at MIT PRIMES, he brings a level of insight that is nearly impossible to find elsewhere. I left the session feeling genuinely more confident and better equipped for the AMC. Highly recommend to any student serious about competition math.
